Keepmoat Homes West Yorkshire’s –The Orchards development in Soothill, Batley has won Ecofficiency’s Best Practice Award for May 2023.

Keepmoat Homes The Orchards has been presented with the Best Practice Award for May 2023 based on these three categories:

  • Excellent Waste Intensity Score: 3.7 Tonnes per 100m2
  • Good Usage Efficiency: 87%
  • James and his site teams’ enthusiastic attitude toward segregation and the Managed Waste Service

The Orchards at Soothill is a 5 year project, which began development last year. From the very start, the site team have been proactive with their waste management. This consistency and enthusiasm towards segregation and Ecofficiency’s Managed Waste Service has meant Keepmoat Homes have achieved fantastic results on site.

Not only have Keepmoat Homes achieved an impressive waste intensity score of 3.7 Tonnes per 100m2 of build, the site team also have achieved a good usage efficiency score of 87%! James and his site team have engaged well with the Managed Waste Service and the site is a great example of how, through collaboration with Ecofficiency, a site can achieve impactful results with the correct managed waste service plan.

Site Manager for Keepmoat Homes, James Swann, said “Could I mention what great support Ecofficiency has given me with waste management on The Orchards @ Soothill, Batley.

The support has been excellent from starting the site set up with my signage and the tool box talks really do work with trades on site. Also the EcoIntelligence portal is a really useful tool to help us with keeping a track of the waste that’s being removed from site.

When presented with the award, James wanted the full site team to take part in the photograph – from the buyer down to the forklift driver – stating “it was a real team effort and the award is not only for him, but for everyone on site”.
