Separate Collections of Recyclable Materials
From January 2015, new regulations will require the ‘separate collection’ of paper, plastic, metals and glass for recycling. The aim of this regulation update is to increase the quality of recycled materials by reducing contamination. This will improve the environment and help the economy.
The Environmental Agency
The Environment Agency is the regulatory body to enforce these regulations in England. This briefing note outlines what the Environment Agency’s role will be and how waste collectors can comply with the new regulations when handling plastics, metals, papers and glass.
