- Diversion Rate: 99%
- Waste Intensity: 2.9 Tonnes
Bellway Homes Tranby Park Site is the first winner of Ecofficiency’s Best Practice Award.
Bellway Homes Tranby Park has been presented with the Best Practice Award for January 2022 based on these three categories:
- The lowest waste intensity across all Bellway Homes sites – 2.9 Tonnes per 100m2
- The Highest Site Assessment score for 2021 – 100% score in every monthly site assessment
- Dave and his site teams’ enthusiastic attitude toward segregation and the Managed Waste Service
Ecofficiency began working with Bellway Yorkshire on the Tranby Park site back in January 2019. A waste management system was put in place where several monitored segregation compounds were set up around site along with colour-coded signage to ensure segregation at source. Over 10 Toolbox talks have been presented to all trades on site to further reinforce best practice in waste management.
Through the implementation of Ecofficiency’s Managed Waste Service, Tranby Park’s Waste Intensity is currently at an outstanding 2.9 Tonne per 100m2 of build. This is the lowest waste intensity figure across all Bellway Yorkshire sites.
Dave Turner, Site Manager at Bellway Tranby Park, said: “Over the past three years Ecofficiency and the on-site support they provide has been invaluable to creating the Waste Management systems on site and the Waste Intensity performance at Tranby Park. The Toolbox talks that Eco provide are an asset to their managed service. We must have had over 10 toolbox talks in that time, as I feel its good to have regular refreshers to capture all the trades on site. We see them on site every two to three weeks and if they are ever needed for anything urgent, they can normally attend the same day.”
Dave’s attitude towards segregation and Ecofficiency’s Managed Waste Service strategy has been key to driving the sites waste intensity figure down, which has ultimately led him to be the worthy winner of the Best Practice Award for January 2022.
