Bellway Homes– Stoughton Park has won Ecofficiency’s Best Practice Award for February 2022

Bellway Homes East Midlands has been presented with the Best Practice Award for March 2022 based on these three categories:

  • Consistent high site assessment score: 97.5% Average
  • Excellent waste segregation area upkeep
  • Site Manager’s Darren & Chris and their site teams’ enthusiastic attitude toward segregation and the Managed Waste Service.

Prior to working with Ecofficiency, there was very little systems in place for segregation, with the site using mainly general waste skips.

Eco took over in the early stages of the project after a complete review of the site operation was undertaken by Eco’s Waste Management team, who proposed the following:

  • A complete redesign of the waste management area
  • Toolbox talks to be presented to all trades on site regularly
  • Colour-coded signage for all skips along with handouts given on site to reinforce waste segregation

The site was initially sceptical but using our collaborative approach to waste management, Stoughton Park is now achieving consistently good results on site, scoring high on the monthly site assessments and being proactive with their waste management.

Site Manager, Darren Kimberley, said “From the very start Ecofficiency have given proactive support so we could maximise our plan to achieve the best we could do in waste segregation. This has helped us greatly to educate anyone working on site. This has also made it easier for our great site team to buy into a system that does work, due to this we’ve found the site is tidier more efficient and we’re all proud to make our site as green as we can. Supplying everything from signage and hazard bags to site toolbox talks and advise is never too much trouble for Ecofficiency, long may it continue”.
